"THE ARRIVAL"

Year 1909. The RMS Lusitania is entering Upper New York Bay. Passengers are on deck contemplating the Statue of Liberty. Wall Street is impatient for the ship to dock, since the tycoon William G. Morgan, famous for having an eye for listed stock, travels on it. Suddenly, passengers see with bulging eyes a red ball passing over their heads at full speed. After having crossed the Atlantic Ocean, the red ball crashes against the Statue of Liberty’s left eye leaving her blind in one eye. She was blind anyway due to a strange eye disease which especially affects statues and rubber ducks. The interpretations of the passengers about the red ball differ: some clearly distinguish a squatting man, others a man on a crouching position and still others a man sat on his heels. They argue heatedly and a brawl arises, during which a Cincinnati merchant loses his right eye. The eye rolls through the deck and a sailor nicknamed “The-One-Eyed” finds it and inserts it into his empty eye-socket. But he continues seeing out of one eye because the roller eye was a glass one. Disappointed, the man removes the eye and throws it with all his might. The tycoon William G. Morgan receives the impact of the glass eye in his left eye, leaving him blind in his eye for listed stock. When the news is known on Wall Street, the stock market will suffer a blow. Meanwhile, Squattedman flies over the bay and lands on the roof of a tall building, where he stands straight and puts on the clothes and shoes he carried in a bundle.
